Spunky - Male Chihuahua

Rescued February 02, 2016
Approximate age: 10 weeks old (at time of rescue)
Activity Level: Low
Adult Size: X-Small (under 10 pounds)
Special Needs
Good with: Dogs Cats Kids

Our little Spunky has a congenital deformity and will need a family that understands his issues, and can provide him the care he will need throughout his life. He has several deformities in his vertebrae which interrupt the signals traveling to the lower half of his body. He can use his legs, just not like a normal dog, not that it slows him down at all. He has no control over his bowels or bladder, so he wears a diaper. If you think you can provide a loving home for Spunky, please fill out an application and we will call you to discuss what his ongoing medical care will entail. Spunky loves people, dogs and cats. He is good with older children, but not recommended for a home with small children.

All Coastal Pet Rescue pets are current on shots, microchipped* and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters are responsible for any shots that may be due after adoption (particularly for kittens and puppies that must have three rounds of shots to be protected).

CPR has implanted a microchip as part of the adoption process and the chip is included in the adoption fee. However, some chip companies require a registration fee varying from $9.99 to $19.99. The registration fees are the responsibility of the adopter and are NOT included in the CPR adoption fee. Adopters may add this cost to their adoption fee to have CPR register the chip on their behalf.

Adoption Fees:
Kittens: $60, Cats (1 year plus): $50, Puppies: $250, Adult Canines (1 to 6 years): $200, Seniors (7 years plus): $100 (unless otherwise specified). Adoption fees are not a tax-deductible donation as allowed by IRS regulations. Adoption fees help to offset the cost of the pet's care incurred by Coastal Pet Rescue, which are generally 2 to 3 times the adoption fee amount.

30 Days Pet Insurance:
As a Petfinder member, all adopters are entitled to a free 30 day insurance policy through PetFirst. Coastal Pet Rescue is not responsible for this policy. Adopters must call PetFirst’s toll-free number 855-710-7387 to activate the coverage. If adopters fail to call, the policy will not be activated.
