Carissa - Female Heeler Mix

Rescued January 26, 2018
Approximate age: 1 to 2 years old (at time of rescue)
Activity Level: Moderate
Adult Size: Medium (25 to 50 pounds)
Good with: Dogs Kids

Carissa is a sweet dog of amazing spirit rescued from Effingham County Animal Shelter. She knows “sit” and is learning some of the other basics – like walking on a leash and fetch, and prefers the Frisbee over the tennis ball.
She seems to like other dogs and hasn’t really expressed an interest in cats from what we’ve seen. She definitely loves people and will snuggle right into your lap and lay her head on your chest. She loves to love and give kisses.
As she is an active pup, homes without small children would be best for Carissa.

Operation New Hope:
This pet is part of the Operation New Hope program and will be available for adoption only at the next Operation New Hope adoption event. Applications are now being accepted, but potential families must attend the Operation New Hope event to complete the adoption.

All Coastal Pet Rescue pets are current on shots, microchipped* and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters are responsible for any shots that may be due after adoption (particularly for kittens and puppies that must have three rounds of shots to be protected).

CPR has implanted a microchip as part of the adoption process and the chip is included in the adoption fee. Some pets come to us already microchipped by other companies. However, some chip companies require a registration fee varying from $9.99 to $19.99. The registration fees are the responsibility of the adopter and are NOT included in the CPR adoption fee. Adopters may add this cost to their adoption fee to have CPR register the chip on their behalf (for AKC Reunite chips only).

Adoption Fees:
Kittens: $60, Cats (1 year plus): $50, Puppies: $250, Adult Canines (1 to 6 years): $200, Seniors (7 years plus): $100 (unless otherwise specified). Adoption fees are not a tax-deductible donation as allowed by IRS regulations. Adoption fees help to offset the cost of the pet's care incurred by Coastal Pet Rescue, which are generally 2 to 3 times the adoption fee amount.

30 Days Pet Insurance:
As a Petfinder member, all adopters are entitled to a free 30 day insurance policy through PetFirst. Coastal Pet Rescue is not responsible for this policy. Adopters must call PetFirst’s toll-free number 855-710-7387 to activate the coverage. If adopters fail to call, the policy will not be activated.
