If you’re a member of a Lutheran church, you’ve probably heard of Thrivent Financial. If you’re not a member, you’re going to want to be when you finish reading this blog.
Thrivent has been a great help for me with my family financials, but it has been even double the blessing for my non-profit. We already participated with the Thrivent Choice Dollars, where each month Thrivent members can choose to donate their Choice Dollars to a charity of their choice, and the funds go directly to that charity the month they are directed. But they go even a step further with their Thrivent Action Teams.
What is a Thrivent Action Team?
Essentially, a Team is you and a few friends or an entire organization. You need only have an idea and a project date that must be within the next 90 days. Once you have those, go online to the Action Team page and complete an application. If you are selected, Thrivent will send you the following to complete your project:
- Promotional banner.
- Invitations and thank-you cards.
- Thrivent Action Team T-shirts.
- A $250 Community Impact Card you can use as seed money to purchase project supplies and create promotional materials.
Best of all, most Thrivent members are eligible for two Action Team projects a year. That means you could be building two LFL each year for your community if you wanted.
