Coastal Pet Rescue Successful Adoption Story: Jose Cuervo

Adopted: June 27, 2008
Rescued: June 6, 2008

This little guy was rescued by two CPR volunteers from a shelter in Camden, SC. To have first seen him, you would not think much of him. But Jose is a survivor ... he had been used as a bait dog for a local fighting ring. His coat was rough; he was covered in fleas; he just wasn't much to look at. But sympathy runs deep with our rescuers, and they decided to add an unscheduled rescue to the trip home.

Jose Cuervo has made his home here with us and is happy hanging around with Tiger the dachshund and Sparky the Jack Russell Terrier. He plays mainly with Tiger as Sparky is the Alpha male and rules the house. Jose likes to get a lot of attention as does Tiger, so they both will sit in a chair with you. He has taken up his new job of barking along with the other dogs at any commotion whatsoever. Jose likes to take many siestas as I guess his ancestors did in Mexico. Jose is a very loving dog and sleeps with my son at night. He has fit in quite well and become a part of the family.
