Missy's owner of 5 years surrendered her to the Humane Society of Chatham-Savannah June 6 because she was getting married and her fiance was allergic to cats. Because she had only three legs and no tail, she was not considered readily adoptable and Coastal Pet Rescue was called to take her. She was adopted at the end of June to a wonderful Hilton Head Island woman.

Thank you for saving Missy's life and telling me about her. When I saw her picture with that gorgeous long hair and beautiful face, I knew I had to meet her, and I am so happy I did. She is just as sweet as she looks, and a perfect addition to my animal family. I cannot understand how someone could give up such an adorable kitty, but, it's my gain. Although she only has 3 legs, she gets around well. She jumps up on the back of the couch to look out the living room window, but her favorite place is the window seat in my sun room. She is not as shy as she was, and loves to have her head rubbed. At first, she did not like to be petted or brushed on the side where her leg is missing, but she is even starting to let me do that now. Thank you again. -- Elaine
