Coastal Pet Rescue Successful Adoption Story: Stella

Adopted: September 5, 2004
Rescued: August 22, 2004

Stella came to us from the Chesterfield, SC animal shelter on August 22 at the age of 5 months old. She was sick with coxcidia and kennel cough, but after several weeks of great care, she was adopted into a loving household with a black lab mix and a siamese cat who believes herself to be a dog.

Update September 16 2004
Stella Dear Lisa & friends: I'm here at my new home and have been very busy adjusting. First, Kerry showed me how to break out of the backyard. We had to wait 10min before my new mom went back in the house. It was fun. She also showed me to go on the front porch & wait there. It's O.K., couple of nice chairs w/cushions. Then, after successfully avoiding pooping in the yard, (I had to wait hours, we worked in the yard almost all day) I found some great spots in the living room. I've been working on a relationship with Wendy the cat. She doesn't seem to like to play chase, but I'm working on her. My mom went out of the house yesterday for a couple hours, so I thought that would be a good time to teach Kerry how to howl. Who knew Pat was sleeping upstairs? No sense of musical appreciation. Talk to you soon! xoxoxo Stella Update October 6, 2004 She is a major brat. Kerry has been transformed to a calm, patient mother of an incredibly spoiled puppy. She knows how to come in through the dog door, but refuses to go out through it. She was spayed last Thursday, but you would never know by her activity level. She has yet to meet a stranger, everyone loves her. All for now. -- Kathleen
