Sam

Sam - Male Beagle Mix

Rescued January 19, 2023
Approximate age: 8 Years (at time of rescue)
Activity Level: Moderate
Adult Size: Small (10 to 25 pounds)
Good with:

Sam is a really special senior who is going to need a really special someone who can give him the love and care he needs. Sam has a seizure disorder. While it is managed with medication and daily exercise, he is still prone to seizures when he gets really happy and/or excited. His foster tries to make sure he gets as much exercise as possible and walks him about 2 – 3 miles a day to keep his energy level on the lower side.
We hope there is someone who will understand and embrace his medical concerns because Sam is a wonderful dog. He might be around 8-years old, but he has lots of love to give! He keeps himself busy throughout the day playing with his toys, napping, and keeping you company. He’s great on walks, does well on car rides, is crate trained, knows “sit” and does well with kids and other chill dogs. (High-energy kids and dogs might be too much for him and cause him to get too excited which can trigger a seizure).
Sam is a gentle soul who would be a great companion and is sure to melt your heart and make you laugh with his silly antics and playful spirit.
We know there must be someone out there just as special as Sam, so his adoption fee will be waived to ensure he finds a great home filled with love and compassion where he will be well cared for and live a spoiled-rotten comfortable life.

Special Medical Information:
Sam has a seizure disorder that is managed with medication. He will require seizure medications and regular vet visits for the rest of his life. He also received a recent cancer diagnosis. While the lesion was surgically removed, it is likely that it will reoccur.

All Coastal Pet Rescue pets are current on shots, microchipped* and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters are responsible for any shots that may be due after adoption (particularly for kittens and puppies that must have three rounds of shots to be protected).

Microchip:
CPR has implanted a microchip as part of the adoption process and the chip is included in the adoption fee. Some pets come to us already microchipped by other companies. However, some chip companies require a registration fee varying from $9.99 to $19.99. The registration fees are the responsibility of the adopter and are NOT included in the CPR adoption fee. Adopters may add this cost to their adoption fee to have CPR register the chip on their behalf (for AKC Reunite chips only).

Adoption Fees:
Kittens: $60, Cats (1 year plus): $50, Puppies: $250, Adult Canines (1 to 6 years): $200, Seniors (7 years plus): $100 (unless otherwise specified). Adoption fees are not a tax-deductible donation as allowed by IRS regulations. Adoption fees help to offset the cost of the pet's care incurred by Coastal Pet Rescue, which are generally 2 to 3 times the adoption fee amount.

30 Days Pet Insurance:
As a Petfinder member, all adopters are entitled to a free 30 day insurance policy through PetFirst. Coastal Pet Rescue is not responsible for this policy. Adopters must call PetFirst’s toll-free number 855-710-7387 to activate the coverage. If adopters fail to call, the policy will not be activated.
