The 1st Puttin' on the Dog for Maggie's Sake was an event to make a difference in the lives of the animals in our area in memory of Maggie Mae Thibodaux. All proceeds benefitted the Humane Society of Chatham Savannah. As part of the event, nominations were accepted for the first Maggie Medal, an award to honor an outstanding pet advocate in our area. Coastal Pet Rescue's founder, Lisa Scarbrough, was a finalist for this award, which was bestowed upon Gloria Leonard, current HSCS president who has been with the organization for over 20 years. Joining Lisa for the evening were her parents, Mike and Iris Scarbrough and Mandy Ownely and April Hanson, both of whom submitted nominations of Lisa for the Maggie Medal.
