Coastal Pet Rescue Classroom Programs

Humane Education Presentations
Coastal Pet Rescue currently provides 30 minutes to 1 hour humane education presentations. Schools wishing to have CPR provide a lesson are encouraged to email Lisa@coastalpetrescue.org with the following information:

Coastal Pet Rescue requests at least three weeks notice for a presentation.

Hearts of Change
Coastal Pet Rescue offers a three-part program for high school students. The Hearts of Change program introduces students to the responsibility of pet ownership, pet overpopulation and issues in animal sheltering and rescue. Hearts of Change teaches students about the reasons animals are surrendered to animal shelters and what steps could have been taken to prevent the relinquishment. Students are required to think critically and emotionally, asked to understand the commitment involved in having a pet, humane care they are charged to provide, and the need for compassion for all animals, even if that compassion is to end the suffering.

CPR Teens Chapters
Coastal Pet Rescue is currently looking to establish CPR Teens chapters (clubs) at area schools. Teachers or advisers interested in helping to pilot this program may contact Lisa Scarbrough at lisa@coastalpetrescue.org.
