Celebrate Pets with Kmart and Coastal Pet Rescue

(Savannah, GA) - May 09, 2007

Kmart is celebrating pets nationwide this May, and has partnered with Coastal Pet Rescue locally for an adoption day.

Stop by Kmart on Montgomery Crossroad Saturday, May 19th from 11 am to 3 pm to adopt a pet for your family. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, current shots, and microchip.

“We were contacted by Kmart about the event as they want to show their support for local pet shelters and rescues,” says Lisa Scarbrough, president/founder of Coastal Pet Rescue. “The event will not only help us find new homes for our deserving pets, but introduce the public to Kmart’s understanding of the growing importance of pets in their customer’s lives.”

As an incentive, Pedigree is offering a free month’s supply of dog food to all Kmart customers who adopt a dog from the Kmart event. To redeem the offer, customers need to show a copy of adoption papers at checkout.

Additionally, Coastal Pet Rescue will provide low-cost microchipping from 1 pm to 3 pm. The cost is $10 per dog or cat. Pets must be on leash or in a carrier and have proof of current rabies vaccination.

Coastal Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, abused and neglected dogs and cats in Savannah and surrounding areas. Founded in February 2003, Coastal Pet Rescue changes the lives of homeless pets in Chatham, Bryan and Effingham Counties through its foster home program and small capacity shelter, Camp Pawsawhile Retreat.
