Coastal Pet Rescue and Georgetown Veterinary Hospital Kick Off Home 4 the Holidays

(Savannah, GA) - November 02, 2010

It’s another year of homeless pets asking Santa to find them new families for the holidays.

This year marks the sixth annual Home 4 the Holidays program for Coastal Pet Rescue, a two-month long quest to find homes for all their rescued pets.

Georgetown Veterinary Hospital will help Coastal Pet Rescue with its H4TH kickoff on Saturday, November 20th from 12 pm to 4 pm. The vet clinic will provide low-cost microchipping, free nail trims, and raffles for prizes. The event will also serve as a grand opening for Georgetown’s new boarding facility with tours available throughout the day.

“Georgetown Veterinary Hospital participates in community outreach with Coastal Pet Rescue because they do a phenomenal job of tackling the huge problem of pet overpopulation in our community,” says Dr. JoEllen Hassan, owner of Georgetown Veterinary Hospital. “By fostering, neutering and placing stray animals, they are doing everything that they can to limit the suffering of these unwanted animals and to avoid the unnecessary euthanasia of these potential pets.”

All proceeds collected during the November 20th event will be donated to Coastal Pet Rescue. Additionally, clumping cat litter, dry cat and kitten food and dry puppy food are also being collected that day. Families may also come out to meet some of Coastal Pet Rescue’s adoptable pets.
