Coastal Pet Rescue Announces Tybee Low-Cost Microchip Clinic

(Savannah, GA) - March 26, 2007

With hurricane season just around the corner, now is the time to get your pets ready.

“We’re doing our part to help avoid a disaster like Hurricane Katrina,” says president and founder Lisa Scarbrough. “Microchips provide a permanent identification, so even if a collar gets lost, a pet can still be found and reunited with its family.”

The microchip clinic will be held April 14 from 1 to 4 pm at Memorial Park on Tybee Island. Dogs and cats should be leashed or in carriers and have current proof of rabies vaccination.

For just $10, pets will be microchipped with a 24PetWatch microchip. There is no cost for updating information after registration, and 24PetWatch provides online tools to help reunite your pets when they get lost. Additionally, the chips can be read by any scanner at shelters, rescues and animal control facilities.

Coastal Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, abused and neglected dogs and cats in Savannah and surrounding areas.
