Coastal Pet Rescue Celebrates Six Years of Changing Lives… One at a Time

(Savannah, GA) - January 26, 2009

On February 5, Coastal Pet Rescue celebrates its sixth year of giving more birthdays to Savannah’s homeless pets.

Coastal Pet Rescue takes pride in providing a niche for special needs pets as well as homeless mothers and their offspring. Their impressive rescues have included a Weimaraner abandoned after being hit by a semi-truck, emaciated dogs left at animal controls, pets left at abandoned homes during the foreclosure crisis, and dogs left on chains so long collars became embedded. CPR also provides heartworm treatments for nearly 20 dogs a year and operates a successful feral cat trap-neuter-return program, The Milton Project.

In it’s short six years, Coastal Pet Rescue has received numerous accolades for it’s work, including being named one of the top ten rescue agencies in the country by Purina Rally to Rescue in 2006 and one of the top five non-profit agencies changing the world by The South Magazine in August 2008.

For it’s sixth anniversary, Coastal Pet Rescue is extending an invitation to the Savannah community to get involved. With more support, more lives will be changed. Volunteer opportunities range from foster parents and adoption day helpers to daily animal care and clerical assistants.
