Coastal Pet Rescue Launches Annual Home 4 the Holidays Program

(Savannah, GA) - November 10, 2014

The holidays are fast approaching, and homeless pets are hoping for help from local Santas this year.

From now through January 2nd, local businesses will be collecting supplies and donations as part of Coastal Pet Rescue’s annual Home 4 the Holidays campaign. The campaign serves to rebuild supplies that have been depleted throughout the year as well as funds to zero out all vet bills before December 31st.

Requested donations include:
Name brand ink and toner cartridges for recylcing
Puppy Pads
Clumping cat litter
Dry kitten food
Dry and wet puppy food
Gift cards (pet retailers, Home Depot and Lowe’s)
Leashes (all sizes)
Small and Extra Small dog collars

Donations may be brought to the following locations:
Animal Hospital at Rice Hope (Port Wentworth)
Animal House at Live Oak Kennels (Thomas Ave, Southside)
Catnip N Biscuits (Skidaway Rd)
Just Desserts of Savannah (Skidaway at DeRenne)
Retail Retreat (Sandfly)
Savannah Bee Company (Wilmington Island)
TailsSpin (Habersham Village & Pooler)

Coastal Pet Rescue also invites the public for an official campaign kick off with cocktails at Ruth’s Chris on Wednesday, November 12th from 5 to 7 pm.

Home 4 the Holidays began in 1999 when Helen Woodward Animal Center organized 14 San Diego area shelters, finding homes for 2,563 orphaned pets. The program is now coordinated nationally, including over 1,900 shelters and rescues. Coastal Pet Rescue has been participating since 2005.
