Coastal Pet Rescue Launches CoastalPetRescue.org V.5.0 and Announces New Birthday Club

(Savannah, GA) - February 14, 2008

Working hard to change the lives of homeless pets requires Coastal Pet Rescue’s leadership team and volunteers to be ready and willing to adopt new tactics to draw a larger audience to support its mission.

“There’s very little we won’t do to draw attention for our adoptable pets,” says Lisa Scarbrough, Coastal Pet Rescue’s president and founder. “We always have to be on the cutting edge and look at new ways to attract donors and adopters.”

Scarbrough has been a web developer since 1997. She has worked with eMarketSouth, a local web design and Internet marketing firm, since 2001, and has been a judge for the last seven years for Web Marketing Association’s International Web Awards. Scarbrough also teaches a workshop yearly for the Georgia Center for Non-profits to educate other non-profits on how to best utilize their website. This year, she has been invited to present the workshop to animal welfare agencies at the Animal Care Expo in Orlando hosted by the Humane Society of the United States.

The new website features a more concise navigation and direct information on the home page to help visitors find exactly the information they need. Additional features include a customized Google search box, photo gallery archives by year, and increased space for sponsors to advertise.

Having recently celebrated their 5th birthday, Coastal Pet Rescue wanted to invite others to share their birthdays as well.

“We have a lot of pets who might not have had another birthday without our help,” says Scarbrough.

The Birthday Club allows individuals to celebrate their birthdays with the homeless pets of Coastal Pet Rescue.

“Members of the Birthday Club ask their friends and family to give donations or items to Coastal Pet Rescue’s pets in lieu of personal gifts,” says Scarbrough.

To join, simply visit http://www.coastalpetrescue.org/birthday-club.php and submit the registration form. Coastal Pet Rescue has even provided postcards that may be downloaded and printed to inform birthday guests of the membership.

Coastal Pet Rescues’s Birthday Club kicked off February 12, with Todd Erwin of Midway making himself the inaugural member.

“The Erwins have been very devoted volunteers of Coastal Pet Rescue for the last three years,” says Scarbrough. “Todd’s wife, Heather, purchased puppy items to celebrate his birthday, and Todd was excited to be the first member of our birthday club.”

Coastal Pet Rescue hopes the new website and Birthday Club program attract more donors and adopters.

“We’ve had 30 puppies this year already, and with four heartworm-positive dogs needing treatment, our expenses are really mounting,” says Scarbrough.
