Coastal Pet Rescue Launches Home 4 the Holidays Program

(Savannah, GA) - November 01, 2013

(Savannah, GA) - The holidays are just around the corner, and one local rescue aims to make them a little brighter for their pets.

Coastal Pet Rescue’s Home 4 the Holidays program runs November 1 through January 2 and aims to raise funds for veterinary care, restock supplies, and find loving homes for their rescued pets.

On Wednesday, November 6th, join Coastal Pet Rescue volunteers for the official Home 4 the Holidays kickoff from 4:30 to 7 pm at Ruth’s Chris for complimentary appetizers, $5 wines, and Happy Hour. Prizes will be raffled to benefit the rescue, and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will do a check presentation.

An adoption day will be held Saturday, November 16th from 10 am to 2 pm at TailsSpin in Pooler. If you already have a pet, bring your dog for the fundraising dog wash.

To celebrate 10 years of helping homeless pets in Savannah and the surrounding areas, a Holiday Homecoming has been planned for Sunday, November 24 at Catnip N Biscuits. All families who have adopted or fostered for Coastal Pet Rescue since 2003 are invited to attend (RSVP required). The event will feature music by DJ Jeff “T-Bone” Taylor, a pet Secret Santa gift swap, and more.

As part of its Home 4 the Holidays program, local businesses will be collecting items for Coastal Pet Rescue’s Santa’s Little Orphans Supply Drive. Items being collected include brand name pet food (dogs, puppies, cats, kittens), clumping cat litter, puppy pads, collars, leashes, toys, and beds as well as name brand used ink and toner cartridges for recycling. Drop off locations include the following:

Savannah: Angel’s BBQ, Catnip N Biscuits, TailsSpin
Wilmington Island: Savannah Bee Co
Tybee Island: Tybean Art and Coffee Bar
Pooler: TailsSpin, Four Paws Grooming
