Everyone needs a little magic when it comes to home improvement, and Coastal Pet Rescue hopes visitors to the Lowcountry Living Home and Garden Show next week will help improve the lives of some homeless pets.

Starting Friday, January 21st through Sunday, January 23rd, Coastal Pet Rescue will have a booth at the Lowcountry Living Home and Garden Show at the Savannah Trade Center. Visitors are invited to Dogwarts to meet some of the residents of its foster homes, Snifferin, Kittendor, Ruffntuff and Ravenpaw, with the hopes of making a magical match. For families not ready to adopt, puppy kisses are available for 50 cents, with all proceeds going towards veterinary care for rescued pets.

“Several of us are such Harry Potter fans that we never miss a midnight showing of the newest release,” says Lisa Scarbrough, president of Coastal Pet Rescue. “We’re hopeful that the booth will be unique enough to draw the attention we need to help our pets.”

Coastal Pet Rescue normally raises $1800 during the show, but is hoping to raise $3000 as the organization has already had major medical costs for a recently rescued litter of puppies.

In addition to the show, Coastal Pet Rescue is in the running for a grant through the Pepsi Refresh Project. Daily votes are needed and can be made by visiting http://www.refresheverything.com/coastalpetrescue or by texting 105069 to Pepsi (73774) (standard text messaging rates apply).

Coastal Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, abused and neglected dogs and cats in Savannah and surrounding areas. Founded in February 2003, Coastal Pet Rescue changes the lives of homeless pets in Chatham, Bryan and Effingham Counties through its foster home program and small capacity shelter, Camp Pawsawhile Retreat.
