Coastal Pet Rescue Presents September Adoption Events

(Savannah, GA) - September 11, 2006

The dog days of summer may be over, but dogs waiting for new homes think every day should be a dog day.

“We’ve had several dogs this year that have required extended medical treatment and are just now ready for adoption,” says Coastal Pet Rescue president and founder Lisa Scarbrough. “For several of these dogs, it will be their first adoption event.”

Coastal Pet Rescue will hold an adoption and information day at the International Peace Day Festival Saturday, September 23 from 11 am to 3 pm in Telfair Square.

On September 30, Coastal Pet Rescue will hold an adoption day and microchip clinic at the Rivers Community Church Fall Festival from 11 am to 2 pm at Coastal Middle School on Whitemarsh Island. Microchipping for dogs is available for $10 per dog; all dogs must be on a leash and have proof of current rabies vaccinations.

Families interested in adopting a pet will be counseled on selecting the right addition for their family. Applications will be accepted before and during the events. Families may apply online in advance at http://www.coastalpetrescue.org.

For those families not looking to adopt, donations of dry dog, puppy, kitten and cat food, treats, toys and bedding will gratefully be accepted.

Founded in February 2003, Coastal Pet Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, abused and neglected animals in the coastal areas of Georgia, South Carolina and Florida.
