Coastal Pet Rescue Presents Third Annual Cruise for Critters

(Savannah, GA) - June 26, 2006

Become a river rat for a day and save the lives of homeless pets in our community.

“We are excited about the successes of the last two cruises,” says Lisa Scarbrough, Coastal Pet Rescue president. “Not only is this our biggest fundraiser every year, but it has turned into a major social event for our volunteers and supporters.”

The Sunday, September 17th cruise, sponsored by Capt. Mike’s Dolphin Tours, Colonial Oil, Spiva Law Group, At Home Pet Sitters and 103.1 The Drive will be a three-hour sightseeing tour departing from Tybee Island at 2 pm. The cost of the cruise is $30 per person and includes Hors D’oeuvres, beverages and a commemorative T-shirt. All funds go directly to Coastal Pet Rescue to be used for veterinary care and program improvements.

“The first year, we had 46 attendees and a waiting list of 20,” says Scarbrough. “Last year, we added a second boat, allowing us to increase the attendance to 80. We’re hoping for the same turnout this year.”

Registration is required in advance as seats are limited. The cruise is open to all adults over 21. Additional business sponsorship opportunities are available. Registration and further information is available online at coastalpetrescue.org, by calling 912-351-4151, or at our July events on Tybee Island.
