Feral Cat Program Asking for Help from Cat Owners

(Savannah, GA) - December 02, 2007

Purchasing cat litter for your own critters can be used to help feral cat caretakers in your community.

The Milton Project is currently asking cat owners using Fresh Step Cat Litter to consider donating the Paw Points on each box or bucket which may be redeemed for free litter coupons. Caretakers spend an enormous amount of money on food for the colonies, and the free litter will help them to save a few dollars towards care for the domestic cats in homes.

Paw Points may be mailed to Coastal Pet Rescue at PO Box 30462, Savannah, GA 31410.

Coastal Pet Rescue’s feral cat initiative, The Milton Project, was established in 2005 to address the overwhelming number of feral cats in the Savannah area. Since its inception, The Milton Project has trapped over 300 cats, preventing 126,000,000 more cats from roaming the Savannah streets.*

*This statistic is based off of studies by The Humane Society of the United States that in seven years, one female cat and her offspring can produce 420,000 cats.

Coastal Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, abused and neglected dogs and cats in Savannah and surrounding areas. Founded in February 2003, Coastal Pet Rescue changes the lives of homeless pets in Chatham, Bryan and Effingham Counties through its foster home program and small capacity shelter, Camp Pawsawhile Retreat.
