Join Coastal Pet Rescue In Celebrating Adopt-a-Dog Month

(Savannah, GA) - October 07, 2008

This month, Coastal Pet Rescue is celebrating American Humane’s Adopt-A-Dog month. It’s the perfect time for families to see just how much a dog can enrich their lives.

Companionship, health benefits, social interaction and devoted love are just a few of the benefits of having a dog. Dogs also encourage people to exercise, promote family relationships and laughter, and act as a nonjudgmental audience and sounding board.

People across the country are already reaping the rewards. According to the 2007-2008 National Pet Owners Survey by American Pet Products Manufactures Association, more than 44 million households in the United States have at least one dog.

Adopting a dog from Coastal Pet Rescue costs $125 and includes current shots and deworming, microchip, spay/neuter, any special medical care needed prior to adoption (ie. heartworm treatments, accident surgeries, etc.), two training DVDs from Animal Planet, 30 days PetCare insurance, coupons and information from Purina Pro Plan Rally to Rescue, and a New Pet Parent Guide.

Coastal Pet Rescue welcomes families to meet adoptable dogs at two events this October: The Tybee Island Pirate Fest October 10 and 11 and Adoption Day at Petco in Bluffton October 18. Families may view pets online 24 hours a day at http://www.coastalpetrescue.org.
