Pet Rescue Founder Wins “Top 10 Working Women of Savannah”

(Savannah, GA) - September 14, 2007

Lisa Scarbrough, President and Founder of Coastal Pet Rescue, was awarded one of Savannah’s “Top 10 Working Women of the Year for 2007” by the local non-profit charity A Working Women in Need, Inc. (AWWIN, Inc.).  Lisa was awarded for the Non-profit category.

The AWWIN, Inc. Awards Gala was held last night at their annual fundraising gala held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Savannah.  “I share this award with my fellow Coastal Pet Rescue volunteers and sponsors, for without them, we would not have successes to be recognized,” says Scarbrough.

Scarbrough founded the organization February 5, 2003, her 24th birthday. Coastal Pet Rescue volunteers provide veterinary care and foster homes for homeless animals rescued from county shelters, turned over by good samaritans, or left behind by previous owners. The group’s efforts have changed the lives of over 700 pets to date, including 109 canines, 27 felines, and 202 feral cats in 2007.
Coastal Pet Rescue continually needs support from the community for its increasing number of intakes. Volunteers, foster parents and sponsors are always welcome.
