Savannah Toyota is Helping Coastal Pet Rescue in Moving Forward
Savannah, GA May 24, 2006
General Manager Chris Hafer wanted to be a driving force for the organization’s fourth year of community service.
“As part of the S.E Georgia area, we felt like somtimes our pets get overlooked,” says Hafer. “This is a way for the associates of Savannah Toyota to do our part to help.”
This past January, the dealership donated a portion of each vehicle sale to the organization, yielding $1,625 for homeless pets in Savannah.
“Donations had dwindled immensely since Hurricane Katrina,” says Lisa Scarbrough, president and founder of Coastal Pet Rescue. “The donation from Savannah Toyota was a blessing to help us with mounting veterinary bills.”
The dealership will also host an on-site adoption and fundraiser event on Saturday, June 17th from 11 am to 3 pm. Coastal Pet Rescue will have pets available for adoption and Savannah Toyota will donate food items to be sold. 103.1 The Drive’s Jeff Taylor will broadcast live while the Savannah Sharks Ice Hockey team players grill out. Donations of dog collars, leashes and cat supplies will also be accepted during the afternoon.
“We are looking forward to an annual partnership with Chris Hafer and his animal-loving staff,” says Scarbrough.
Founded in February 2003, Coastal Pet Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Savannah, Georgia dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, abused and neglected dogs and cats in the Creative Coast Savannah and Lowcountry South Carolina areas.
