Scouts BSA Dog Care Merit Badge Weekend
at Coastal Pet Rescue

Come spend the weekend at Camp Pawsawhile Retreat and learn from our seasoned volunteers and staff all about dog care to help you earn your Dog Care merit badge. Scouts will work hand in hand with our dog care teams and be able to ask questions and learn how we care for animals in a shelter environment.

Bonus: Scouts can also earn the Veterinary Science merit badge. Click here for more information.

2021 Program Dates: Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25
Program time: Saturday: 10 am to 4 pm; Sunday: 1 pm to 5 pm
Cost: $20 donation per Scout to cover materials (workbook and first aid kit items)
Participation Limit: 10 Scouts

Scouts will receive a certificate at the completion of the program and will take their workbooks home with them as well as a signed blue card. CPR does not provide official Scouting badges or awards - all work should be turned in to your Scout leader to be awarded. If your unit uses Scoutbook, you can connect Lisa Scarbrough as your merit badge counselor.

The program is directed by CPR director and founder Lisa Scarbrough who is also a registered BSA leader for Coastal Georgia Council.

Attire: Scouts should wear closed toe shoes, clothes that may get dirty and/or torn (it happens)

Food and Beverage: Scouts should bring a sack lunch and refillable water bottle on Saturday; a snack and refillable water bottle on Sunday.

Two-Deep Leadership: Each unit sending a Scout MUST provide one leader or another adult to stay with the Scouts for the duration of the program.
